As you know my son loves his chocolate chip cookies, but I did want to make them a little more special by adding a ton a sprinkles to them. This recipe is also really simple and it is a great way to get your little ones to start baking.
As usual, start with flour, egg, sugar, butter, and chocolate chips.

Cream together the butter and sugar until nice and whipped.

You can see that the mixture will start getting fluffy and the sugar will start dissolving.

To this add your egg.

Mix well.

At this stage you can start adding the chocolate chips. I find it easier to mix it in at this stage. My son also wanted to add some sprinkles.

Now add in the dry ingredients.

Have the flour set up on the side and allow your kids to pour it in.

Portion the dough into small balls and then dip them into various sprinkles. It was fun to have bowls of different sprinkles to choose from.

When you are done, line up the cookie dough balls to allow for some space to expand.

When you bake these cookies, the sprinkles add a cute addition to the cookies. If you want soft cookies, don’t bake too long. The cookies will seem underdone and the edges will just start to brown. If you like your cookies crunchy, bake 1-2 minutes longer.

As the cookies cool, they will crinkle and firm up. Enjoy.
