This recipe has been trending all over the internet. I already had the ingredients at home since I was planning on making something similar anyways. I decided it was time to try it out. Did I like it? Well it was really strong for my liking but it was nice with some full fat milk and sweetener.
Again this recipe is super easy and only needs four ingredients. Instant coffee, sugar, water and milk (or non dairy milk).
You can start with the amounts given in the recipe or double it and that will be fine as well. You will need the ratio of 1:1:1. One tablespoon of instant coffee powder, one tablespoon of sugar, and one tablespoon of hot water. I tried this recipe with white sugar and coconut sugar and both were fine. If you like your coffee sweeter, add sweetener to your milk.
Add all the ingredients to your blender. I used my immersion blender with whisk attachment and measuring cup, but people have used hand blenders or even a good old fashion whisk. The mixture will at first look dark like coffee.
As you blend the mixture, it will thicken up and lighten in color.
When the mixture gets to the stiff peak stage, it will be a light brown color.
Now just pour yourself a glass of milk and top with some of the coffee foam. At first I thought the coffee was a bit strong so I added more milk to it until it was just right. It almost reminded me of a nice cup of strong Vietnamese coffee. Yumm.
