Now I’m not a huge beer fan (and yes I’ve had my fair share of different types) but I enjoy cooking with it. I was recently given a growler of beer. Not knowing what to do with all of it and knowing that growlers do not last very long, I decided to make some beer bbq sauce.
BBQ sauce has always been in my fridge. Its an easy sauce to put on chicken, steak and have as a dipping sauce. This recipe is really easy but a little on the sweet side. Start by dicing up 1/4 cup onion. Add this to the sauce pan.
To the onions add 1 cup tomato paste, 1 1/4 cup beer, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar, 1 Tbsp + 1/4 tsp Worcestershire sauce and 1/8 cup honey or molasses.
On medium low heat, simmer all ingredients for about 30 minutes. This will burn off the alcohol and thicken the sauce.
Once the sauce has thickened, remove from heat and let it cool. Store in a container or use on your next BBQ sauce recipe! Enjoy! For more recipes check out the rest of our blog! https://eatitnoworeatitlater.com/recipe-list/
