Shrimp and Salmon Pasta

Pasta is easily transformed from plain tomato sauce to something more elegant by adding a few ingredients. You can add leftover chicken or stir fry to jazz up the sauce! For this pasta, I bought some prawns and smoked salmon.

Begin by dicing up the onions and garlic for the tomato sauce.

Sauté the onions and garlic in a bit of olive oil. You want to cook the onions to get it tender and aromatic.

Cook the prawns with the onions and garlic. Add a bit of paprika for colour and taste. Once the prawns are cooked, added some salt and pepper and turn down the heat. Its also a good idea to undercook your prawns since you will be heating it with the sauce.

Open a can of diced tomatoes and put it in the pan. I chose tomatoes with no salt and no herbs since I like to add my own. Add your favourite herbs. I love Italian pasta so I am very generous with the oregano!

Voila!! A quick and easy pasta. Serve the sauce over fresh pasta and sprinkle with some parmesan cheese! Yum 🙂
