I wanted to try something different that I thought would be fun for little C to try. But these sprinkles are the glitter of the baking world…. so it might not be the best choice for a toddler.

The recipe I used was quite simple. A basic sugar cookie. The fun part was rolling the cookies into the sprinkles.
Whip up the butter and sugar together.

Add the egg and mix.

Now add the flour.

Mix together. The dough will look crumbly but once you knead with your hands, the dough will come together.

Roll each ball into some sprinkles. You don’t need to use nonpareils, other sprinkles work as well. This is similar to making snickerdoodles.

This is when I thought it was a good idea to get my son involved. But we found sprinkles for days. The sprinkles didn’t stick well, so you really needed to press them down. Some people coat the cookies in milk to help the sprinkles stick but I thought it would make the sprinkles bleed.

You can use different cookie dough but the same technique. I tried the Nutella cookies and they worked out well too.

The cookies turned out ok. I think I would try a different type of cookie because sugar cookies were not my favorite.
