Blueberry Cheong Syrup

This recipe makes the most delicious blueberry syrup! It is simple but takes time for the blueberry flavours to get infused into the sugar syrup.

Begin by washing and drying the fresh blueberries.

In a clean jar, add a couple spoons of white sugar and place a layer of blueberries into the jar. Cover the blueberries with additional white sugar until it covers them half way. Add more blueberries and then sugar. Continue this process until the jar is full.

Seal the jar and place in the fridge. Over the next couple of weeks, the blueberry juices will get pulled from the blueberries and create a flavourful blueberry syrup.

The syrup is ready when the blueberries are shriveled up. Enjoy the syrup on drinks, on ice cream, shaved ice, or a drizzle over desserts.
