Spam Musubi is a Hawaiian snack made from grilled spam in a sweet soy sauce. Usually served on a block of rice and wrapped in seaweed.
This deconstructed version of Spam Musubi is simple and easy. Try different Spam flavours as a variation.
To make the Spam Musubi start by dicing up the spam. In a measuring cup add a 1:1 ratio of soy sauce and sugar. You can adjust the amount of sugar if you want it less sweet. You want about 1/4 cup of sweetened soy sauce.
Add the spam to the frying pan and grill for a few minutes until it starts to brown. Add the sweetened soy and let it simmer until the sauce thickens slightly and becomes sticky.
Serve with rice and your favourite ingredients like avocado, cucumber or pineapples.
Enjoy!
