Shin Ramen Cold Noodles

on

This summer I am trying out some interesting cold dishes. This recipe has been on my mind for a while. Yes its because I love ramen but also because it uses Sprite.

This recipe is simple and is a great side dish or snack. It isn’t too sweet and does have an interesting flavor. You can pair it with cucumber to make a refreshing dish.

Prep your noodles by boiling, drain and then cool it in ice water.

Start by cutting up your cucumber into sticks. In a bowl, add your soup powder and vegetable package and a clove of crushed garlic.

In a pan, heat up some oil and pour the hot oil over the spices. Mix and then add the sprite. To this mixture, add Zhenjiang vinegar and soya sauce. I added about a tablespoon each, tasted and then added more to taste. You can add green onions, cilantro and sesame seeds to this dish.

Pour the sauce onto your noodles. Enjoy as a side dish.

Shin Ramen Cold Noodles inspired by Sprite Noodles

  • 1 package of Shin Ramen
  • about 1 cup of Sprite
  • 1 tablespoon of Zhenjiang vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon of Soya Sauce (low sodium)
  • 1 clove of garlic crushed
  • 1/2 cucumber slivered.
  • green onion
  • cilantro

Cook your noodles until tender. Cool in an ice bath. In a bowl add crushed garlic, the seasoning package, and dried vegetable package. In a pan, heat up some oil. Pour this oil onto the seasoning package and mix. To this add the Sprite, vinegar and soya sauce. Mix well, taste and adjust the amount of vinegar and soya sauce. I ended up adding 2 tablepoon.

Drain your noodles. Arrange your noodles in a bowl and top with the cucumber, green onion and cilantro. Pour the sauce on top and enjoy.
