Recently my son has been into matcha. It started with the matcha frappe from starbucks and now he likes anything matcha flavored. We looked up some recipes to try out and we ran into this matcha Brownie recipe.

This is a simple yet delicious recipe. You will need white chocolate, butter, eggs, vanilla, sugar, brown sugar, flour and matcha.
Begin by melting the butter and chocolate together. I did this by melting the butter and breaking the chocolate into pieces into the hot butter. I let the chocolate melt and mixed it together.

In a bowl, mix the eggs, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla. Beat until the eggs are light and fluffy. Add the butter and chocolate mixture and then mix.

Then add the matcha and flour. Make sure you sift the mixture as the matcha clumps together. I did not do this and it was pretty chunky. 😦

Pour into a greased baking dish. Bake at 350 Degrees for about 30-40 minutes. Test with a toothpick to see if the brownie is cooked. If the toothpick comes out clean, then it is ready.

Enjoy on its own or with a cup of tea. The white chocolate gives the brownie a nice creamy flavor.

Matcha Brownie
- 1 cup flour
- 4 oz white chocolate
- 1/2 cup butter
- 3 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1/4 brown sugar
- 2 tbsp of matcha powder
In a microwave safe bowl, melt the butter. When hot, break up the white chocolate in chunks and add to the butter. Allow the chocolate to melt. Stir together and allow to cool.
In a bowl, beat together the eggs, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract. Beat until the mixture is lighter in color and fluffy. Add the chocolate and butter mixture and mix.
To this mixture, add the matcha and flour. Make sure you sift this mixture as the matcha powder tends to clump. Mix well. Pour into a 6 in by 6 in baking tray.
Bake the brownie for at 350 degrees for about 30-40 minutes. You can check to see if it is done by using a toothpick and poking the center of the brownie. If the toothpick comes out clean, then it is done.
Enjoy this sweet matcha treat.
