This dish is served for Lunar festivals. It is a simple dish to make and easy to freeze.

Start by making the filling by processing the pistachios. Do this by using a food processor and blending the pistachios until it is a fine grain consistency. Add the 2 tbsp liquid honey and 1 tsp sugar. Mix well. Portion out the filling into 12 balls and place in the freezer to set.

Portion the dough into 12 balls. Flatten the balls and place a filling ball into it. Completely wrap the filling with the dough. Continue with all 12 balls.

Make the dough by adding 1/2 cup of boiling water to 1 cup of glutinous rice flour. The dough needs to be kneaded for about 3 minutes. You should get the consistency of a soft dough that doesn’t stick to your hands when kneaded.

In a small saucepan, add 2 cups of water and 1 stick of brown sugar. Heat up the water until the sugar has melted. Adjust the sweetness by adding more water or adding more sugar. Boil a pot of water, when water is boiled add the glutinous balls and boil for about 8 minutes. Add the balls to the sugar water and serve warm. Enjoy!
