This weekend is Family Day weekend. I thought this recipe is perfect to make with your kids. The recipe is versatile and you can switch up your ingredients to things you like. For my recipe, I chose lucky charms (my son’s current favorite cereal), mini marshmallows, fruit gummies and biscuits that I had in my cupboard. Yes just find things that are in your cupboard. The main part of this Rocky Road recipe is chocolate chips and nutella. You can have your kids make these on their own using the microwave or help them make this over the stove top.

Begin by melting the chocolate chips and nutella in a sauce pan over low heat or in the microwave.

When the chocolate chips are fully melted allow to cool slightly before mixing in the rest of the ingredients.

Break up the biscuits into small pieces. Mix all the ingredients together until well blended.

This might be a little hard for smaller kids because the chocolate is quite thick.

Line a pan with some parchment paper and pour in the mixture. Bang the pan onto the counter top to help the mixture settle into the pan.

If you want, have your kids sprinkle the top with sprinkles of their choice. Yes these are Barbie sprinkles because my son loves the diamonds. Place in the fridge and allow to sit for at least 1-2 hours.

Once set, cut into pieces. The mixture of the biscuits, cereal, gummy and marshmallows are a nice treat. Have your kids experiment with other ingredients and see what is their favorite combination. You can choose seasonal colors or candies such as candy canes or little marshmellow chicks. Get creative. Enjoy.
