Candied Almonds

These candy almonds are delicious as a treat or can be mixed with granola or used as toppings. They are really simple and quick to make.

For this recipe, you will need almond (I used slivered since that was what I had), cinnamon, sugar, vanilla extract and water.

In a pan simmer the sugar, cinnamon, water, vanilla extract until it start to bubble. Set the heat to medium high.

Add the almond and stir continuously. Turn down the heat to medium.

The sugar will start out liquid and the water will start evaporating. Keep stirring until the sugar crystalizes and is no longer sticky.

Place the almond on a parchment lined tray to cool. These are sweet little treats and very addicting. Next time I would try to toast the almond first to see if it would be a little crispier.

  • 2 cups almonds (toasted)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp cinnamon

Add the water, sugar, vanilla and cinnamon to a pan. Heat on medium high until it begins to bubble. turn down the heat to medium. Add the almonds and mix.

Continue stirring. The liquid will begin to evaporate and get sticky. The almonds are ready when the sugar dries up and crystalizes around the almonds.

Place the almonds on a parchment lined baking sheet to cool.

Enjoy as a treat or can be mixed with granola or used as topping.
